About Me

I am an archival consultant who helps families preserve their history through thoughtful, high-quality digitization and organization of photographs, letters, home movies, and memorabilia. With over a decade of experience in cultural heritage digitization, I bring a deep understanding of both the technical and emotional aspects of archival work. I specialize in transforming family collections into accessible, lasting digital archives — whether it’s a single box of photos or an attic full of heirlooms.

In addition to my private consulting practice, I am a Project Manager at the USC Digital Library, where I lead large-scale digitization projects for libraries and archives. I previously managed the USC Digital Imaging Lab, helping to develop efficient, preservation-quality workflows for rare and fragile materials. My work has been supported by major foundations and federal agencies, including a Department of Defense contract and a $500,000 CLIR grant to digitize rare materials from the Mesoamerican and Spanish Colonial eras.

I combine professional-grade imaging expertise with a warm, collaborative approach to help families safeguard their stories for generations to come.

My Story

I began my career in the USC Digital Library as a digital imager, where I worked on rare and fragile collections from institutions around the world. Around that time, my father handed me a box of letters written by my grandfather to my grandmother during World War II. He was the captain of a ship in the Pacific theater and wrote to her every single day — sometimes twice a day.

I digitized every letter, organized the files in chronological order, and designed a bound book using Adobe Creative Suite. That book, which I gifted to my family for the holidays, became one of the most meaningful projects I’ve ever done. Since then, other family members have asked me to digitize parts of our family archive and create similar books.

That personal experience showed me how powerful family archives can be when they are preserved and made accessible. It also inspired my consulting work: helping families safeguard their own histories with the same level of care and attention I bring to cultural heritage projects.
